| The National Registration Database (NRD®) is an initiative of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) and the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) (now called the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC)) and was launched by CDS INC. on March 31, 2003. It is a web-based system that dealers and advisors use to electronically file registration forms with their regulators.
NRD was designed in accordance with provincial securities legislation and IIROC policies and harmonizes the registration process across all jurisdictions in Canada, thus reducing the regulatory burden on capital market participants. |
