| The System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI®) was established to facilitate the filing and public dissemination of insider reports in electronic format via the SEDI.ca website. Insiders (directors, senior officers and significant shareholders) who are required by provincial securities laws to file insider reports use SEDI to make these filings in electronic format. Using the Internet, the public can access these insider reports as well as issuer event reports filed by reporting issuers disclosing share splits and other corporate events affecting security holdings.
Currently the system has over 30,000 active users filing for almost 50,000 insiders and 6,400 issuers. Every month an average of 20,000 insider reports are filed on SEDI and made available to the general public. The public downloads over 700,000 insider transaction detail reports monthly, as well as over 25,000 insider information by issuers reports. |
